Terms of Service

1. Trademark & Intellectual Property

ALTUS PREP is a pending trademark. All AI-generated content, lesson structures, and the "Altus Fusion Method" are the exclusive intellectual property of the platform. Unauthorized reproduction or reverse engineering is strictly prohibited.

2. Academic Integrity

Altus Prep utilizes a Socratic AI to build mastery. Students are expected to engage honestly with the companion. The platform is designed to supplement exam board specifications but does not guarantee specific exam results.

3. Subscription & Payments

Founding Membership fees are non-refundable once the mastery package has been generated for a student account. Subscriptions can be managed via the Stripe Customer Portal.

For UK users: Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of purchase. By using the platform immediately, you acknowledge the service begins before the cancellation period expires. Cancellations can be managed via the Stripe Customer Portal. Refunds after the cancellation period are considered on a case-by-case basis.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Altus Prep, you agree to the following:

• Do not attempt to manipulate, bypass, or "jailbreak" the AI companion.
• Use the platform only for personal academic revision.
• Do not share account credentials.
• No harassment, bullying, or disruptive behavior in study rooms or challenges.
• Do not upload illegal, harmful, or offensive content.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Limitation of Liability

• The platform is provided "as is" and "as available".
• We do not guarantee that AI-generated content is error-free or that the platform will be uninterrupted.
• We do not guarantee specific academic outcomes.
• Our total liability is capped at the subscription fees you have paid in the prior 12 months.
• Nothing in these terms excludes liability for negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

6. User Content & Data

• Users retain ownership of their content, including chat messages, quiz responses, and study notes.
• By using the platform, you grant Altus Prep a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use your content for service delivery and improvement.
• Anonymized aggregate data may be used for research and product development.

7. Governing Law & Disputes

• These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai, UAE.
• Disputes will be resolved through 30 days of good-faith negotiation, followed by arbitration at the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) if unresolved.
• Nothing in these terms limits UK consumer statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Modifications to Terms

• These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or platform notice at least 30 days in advance.
• Continued use of the platform after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
• If you disagree with the updated terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date.

9. Account Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your account for breach of these terms, fraud, or legal requirement.
• Upon termination, you will lose access to the platform and no refund will be issued for the remaining subscription period.
• You may request a copy of your data within 30 days of termination, after which your data will be permanently deleted.
